My fingers are trembling with excitement as I type this so please excuse any typos! Marvel Studios has just released a new trailer for Avengers: Endgame. The new trailer starts with a trip down memory lane, showing footage from some of the past films and then moves on to events of the present day. It was as if to enforce the idea that everything that the Avengers did, everything that they are, are all connected and it is up to them to neutralise the current threats.
The trailer dropped with a plethora of new reveals. For starters, we get to see the new white Avengers suit. Captain America/ Steve Rogers ditches his outlaw-style beard. We get to see Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) with a new hairdo, training someone. But perhaps the biggest reveal of them all is that Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) makes his way back to earth with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) by his side! *rainbow tongue emoji*
Ant-Man missed out from Avengers: Infinity War, making people wonder about what happened to him. Those doubts were cleared in the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp. In Endgame’s trailer, we see Paul Rudd back in action, which means he might have found a way out of the quantum realm. The Avengers are cornered and like any cornered animal, they’re going for a last ditch effort to make things right doing ‘whatever it takes.’
Finally, the trailer ends with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) summoning Stormbreaker, inches away from Captain Marvel’s (Brie Larson) head. She doesn’t flinch at all, impressing the Norse god who says “I like this one!” BTW, Carol was shown meeting the Avengers after the events of Captain Marvel. As for Thanos, he doesn’t show up in the trailer. Nor does Hulk, though Bruce Banner does get some screen time, along with Rocket and Nebula. Can the Avengers survive? Or will they perish trying to take down Thanos? We'll have to wait till April 26 for that answer.
