The third title of the popular Bad Boys films has entered the filming stage. We knew that Will Smith and Martin Lawrence were making a comeback on Bad Boys for Life, but now we have a new update from the sets. It turns out that DJ Khaled is the newest member to join the cast. Smith and Lawrence will reprise the roles of Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett. However, there is no lead on what role Khaled will be taking up.
Besides the trio, the others joining the franchise include actor Joe Pantoliano, who will play the role of Captain Conrad Howard like in the previous films. The new actors for Bad boys for Life include Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Jacob Scipio, and Paola Nunez. The film was scripted by Peter Craig of Transformers fame. Joe Carnahan will be doing the rewrites and currently, Chris Bremmer is with the script. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will direct the film.
According to Variety, the story is based around a specialised unit of the police that goes against the Bad Boys when the city of Miami faces a new threat. The film is slated to release on January 17, 2020. The original Bad Boys film was released in 1995, followed by Bad Boys II in 2003. Bad Boys for Life will be released after a gap of 25 years.
