With less than a 100 days left before the debut of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel fans are glued to social media with the hopes of getting any news on the film. Naturally, when any of the actors tweet or share anything on social media, there’s a huge rush among their followers who try to figure out if the said post has anything to do with his upcoming film. On January 21, Chris Evans aka Captain America tweeted ‘The goat.’
Fans cued up to the tweet as expected, but it was not what they probably thought. When Evans tweeted ‘goat,’ he didn’t have Endgame in mind. Instead, the tweet was directed to Tom Brady, a quarterback of the New England Patriots. Evans was actually celebrating the Patriots’ win over Kansas City Chiefs, which allowed the former side to move on to Super Bowl LIII.
It turns out that Evans is a big fan of Brady. Back in 2017, the actor had shared a video of himself celebrating Brady’s win, along with his Avengers co-star Jeremy Renner. Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Evans said about Brady, "We went to the Super Bowl and I had a couple Boston buddies and Jeremy Renner. It was one of Renner’s buddies that had seen me spike in enthusiasm throughout the game and chose to film the final seconds and I didn’t know it was happening.”
Meanwhile, Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to release on April 2019. Evans will be playing the role of Captain America and fans wait with bated breath about the fate of the world since Thanos’ purge.
