DC Comics has confirmed that it is officially relaunching Justice League with a new team. Writer Scott Snyder, who worked on Dark Nights: Metal, Batman, will be joined by artists Jim Cheung and Jorge Jimenez. Cheung had worked on Young Avengers while Jorge worked on Superman and Super Sons. The new series will be spinning out of the weekly No Justice event.
Launching on June 6, the new Justice League series will be shipping biweekly. Justice League #1 will be drawn by Cheung, while the next edition that releases on June 20 will include designs by Jimenez.
According to reports, in the relaunched series, Martian Manhunter will be joining the Justice League as he, along with Batman head out to recruit an ally back to the team. DC even went on to tease that the Flash and Hawkgirl will undertake an adventure which could “rewrite their mythologies.”
According to Comicbook.com, the new lineup will be a combination of the core seven New 52 Justice League members and the Justice League lineup from the DC Animated Universe, Justice League series: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern John Stewart, Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, Aquaman, and Cyborg.
“I am extremely honoured, and happy, to be able to launch Justice League with Scott and Jorge,” said Cheung in a statement. “It has been many years since I've had the pleasure of working at DC, but when Scott first mentioned this opportunity, I knew I couldn't say no,” he added.
