Singer Demi Lovato has reason to celebrate. After nearly dying of a drug overdose last year, she has been in rehab and according to her Instagram story, she’s now sober for six months. Her post featured her holding a sobriety coin that read ‘six months.’ Reports said that Lovato even made a trip to the gym, continuing her drive to clean her lifestyle. In July 2018, headlines everywhere flashed that Lovato was hospitalized after substance abuse.
Another story shared by the singer showed her team gifting her desserts with a note that read: “Happy 6 Mo. We are so f—ing proud of you.” Lovato called it the ‘best day ever.’ Photographers in Los Angeles caught the star leaving a fitness facility in black workout attire. The recovering star, who is said to be dating her sober companion Henri Levy, posted a couple of make-up videos later in the day.
In August 2018, a month after being released from the hospital, Lovato shared an update on her health. The post has since been deleted. I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet,” Lovato wrote.
After enrolling in a rehab facility, she left it in November, though People.com cited sources who claimed that Demi was focused on her route to sobriety.
