Rami Malek is the step closer to bagging the role of the villain in the upcoming James Bond film. Collider reports that the Bohemian Rhapsody star is at the final negotiations to play the role of the villain opposite Daniel Craig in Bond 25. It was earlier reported by various outlets that Malek’s shooting schedule for the final season of Mr Robot was conflicting with the filming of Bond 25. According to Collider, Malek’s team managed to discuss and work around his schedule so that he finds time for both productions.
Currently, there is no deal yet, but it is expected to go through. As for Malek’s character, there are no details available. The news of Malek getting closer to signing a deal for Bond 25 comes just a few days after the actor won the Best Actor award from the Academy. Malek was nominated for his role as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. Currently, the expected cast for Bond 25 includes Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, and Ralph Fiennes.
According to Variety, a couple of other roles are still to be filled up. A new MI6 agent and an American CIA agent are likely to be a part of the story and actors for those roles aren’t finalised yet. Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, Bond 25 is expected to release on April 10, 2020.
