It was the night of the Oscars and while a lot of people complained about the show dragging on for what felt like an eternity, HBO made things lively with a sneak peek of Game of Thrones. The first episode of the final season airs on April 14, and to say that fans are restless about it would be an understatement. HBO has been tight-lipped about their show and has taken a trickle-down approach to tease the audience. The most recent GOT clip has got the world talking about Arya Stark riding a dragon.
The trailer is actually a compilation of clippings of upcoming shows from HBO. Game of Thrones is a part of it. In one of the shots, the Unsullied can be seen marching in full battle gear as winter approaches. The soldiers are seen wearing heavy clothing, unlike the usual leather armour that they wore in the previous seasons. A dragon is seen flying over them and Arya gets her first glimpse at the fire-breathing lizard. Unlike her step-brother Jon Snow, Arya looks fascinated by the creature, making people wonder if she’s the next dragon rider. When Jon saw a dragon for the first time, he was scared, however, he did steel himself to touch the Dragon later.
The final footage comes towards the end of the trailer. Viserion is seen laying waste to the Wall as it crumbles under his wrath. All the scenes have a snowy setting, further emphasising the fact that winter has arrived. There are also a couple of shots from season 7, where the Night King slaughters Viserion and turns him into a zombie-dragon.
