Grammys 2019: Miley Cyrus gives a tribute to her godmother Dolly Parton
One of the highlights of Grammy Awards 2019 was when Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton came on stage to perform together.
Grammy Awards 2019 saw some amazing performances by Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Lady Gaga and many more. But one performance that became the talk of the town was one that involved Dolly Parton who was accompanied by a lot of other singers who gave a tribute to her. Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves kickstarted the act by singing Parton's biggest hits and then later the veteran singer joined them on stage. After Katy and Kacey, it was Parton’s god-daughter who came on stage and both of them performed the song, Jolene. They were later joined by Maren Morris as they performed After The Goldrush.
It didn’t end there, Maren, Katy, Jimi Westbrook, Kimberly Schlapman, Parton, Karen Fairchild, Philip Sweet, Miley and Kacey all came together for the song 9 to 5. This performance was clearly the highlight of the evening. Miley took to Twitter to share a picture of hers with Dolly Parton and stated that she loves Parton’s beauty beyond comparison. We quite agree with Miley. Who could say that the legendary singer is 73?
Only recently Parton was honoured with MusiCares Person of the Year for her musical achievements and philanthropic work. Parton started her career as a songwriter and it was in 1967 when she came up with her first album titled Hello, I'm Dolly. She has won nine Grammy Awards and has been nominated twice at the Academy Awards.Read More
