The cast of The Many Saints of Newark, the prequel to the hit HBO series, The Sopranos has been revealed. Set during the Newark riots of the 1960s, the movie will incorporate younger versions and also portray the older relatives. According to Variety, the film's cast will be led by Disobedience actor Alessandro Nivola as Richard Dickie Moltisanti and Tony Sopranos (the late James Gandolfini) had mentioned the character as a personal hero many times in the series. Jon Bernthal and Jon Bernthal have also been brought on board. But their roles are not known.
In addition to these castings, Corey Stoll and Billy Magnussen have also joined the team and their roles are also unknown. The film will also star Tony Soprano. The creator of the series, David Chase will pen down the script and the movie will be directed by Alan Taylor. He took care of many episodes of the series and has worked on Thor: The Dark World and Game of Thrones.
