Lady Gaga loses her cool during performance, disses Donald Trump and Mike Pence
After Cardi B’s rant, it was Lady Gaga’s turn to break silence over the government shutdown in the US. The singer took a break while singing Million Reasons during her performance in Las Vegas on January 19 in a bid to bash the president of the United States and the shutdown that has continued for close to a month. While Lady Gaga used the stage as a way to speak up against her government, Cardi B took to Instagram to cuss at Donald Trump.
Gaga was on her piano during the performance when she paused and spoke against Mike Pence, the vice president of the United States, whose wife reportedly planned a return to teaching art at the Immanuel Christian School, an institution that doesn’t allow students or teachers from the LGBTQ community. “…and to Mike Pence, who thinks it’s acceptable that his wife work at a school that bans LGBTQ, you are wrong,” she said. “You say we should not discriminate against Christianity; you are the worst representation of what it means to be a Christian,” she added.
About the shutdown, Gaga said, “And that the f*ing president of the United States could please put our government back in business. There are people who live paycheck to paycheck and need their money.” The singer apologised immediately after her speech, though the crowd was still cheering. She then continued with her performance.
