Oscars 2019: With Kevin Hart's withdrawal, will the ceremony go without a host?
After Kevin Hart’s departure as the host from the Academy Awards, the organisers are having a tough time finding a new one. Now that Hart has stepped down from his role at cinema's biggest awards night, it looks like The Academy is ready to make a bold move. As per a report in Variety, the Academy has no backup host to present the gala event and after Kevin announcing that he will not host the event, Oscars 2019 may go host-free for the first time ever. Kevin Hart’s old dig at the LGBTQ community resurfaced on the internet has put the organisers in a spot as they are down the wire to find a host replacement for the 2019 ceremony. Variety suggests that another possible scenario left to make the event a hit affair is a 'stunt like a group monologue'.
Variety further reports that it was shocking for the organisers when Hart was not ready to apologise and rather chose an option to step down from hosting the Academy Awards. In the past decade, famous comedians such as Jimmy Kimmel, Chris Rock, Ellen DeGeneres, Billy Crystal, and Steve Martin have hosted the show.
The fate of the Academy's presentation hangs in balance? With just about two months left for the ceremony, will it go with the no-host option or come up with a name? Fans of the golden man will surely be looking forward to this one...
