Andrea Kelly, the wife of singer Robert Sylvester Kelly, and their daughter Joann made their first television appearance on Good Morning Britain to speak about the allegations of sexual abuse made against him. Joann became emotional during the show and conceded that the allegations had caused her a lot of pain. As for Andrea, she said that she was a survivor but she neither confirmed nor denied any of the allegations made by other women, as per reports.
"I am a firm believer that if you have being abused, it does not give you a free pass to be an abuser," said Andrea. During the show, Joann said: "I am very torn at the end of the day he is still family and he is still my blood and yes I still love my father." R Kelly is currently being investigated for alleged physical and emotional abuse after victims opened up against him in a documentary titled Surviving R Kelly.

Speaking about her father, Joann said, “It is very hard to digest. As a lot of people know as far as the reaction to what is happening that he is still my father. It is a hard situation.” Andrea said of her married life as being abused “verbally physically and sexually and now he is financially abusing me."
