Will Smith gives a perfect tribute to Henry Heimlich on his birth anniversary
It was Dr Henry Heimlich' 99th birth anniversary on Sunday and Will Smith gave a perfect tribute to him.
February 3, 2019, marked the 99th birth anniversary of Dr Henry Heimlich who is famously known as the inventor of the Heimlich manoeuvre, a technique to stop choking by performing abdominal thrusts. It is one of the most common techniques used when a person is choked due to something getting stuck in his or her throat. Will Smith took to Instagram to share a story with his fans about how his brother Harry’s life was saved thanks to Dr Henry Heimlich.
The actor has created an animated video of the whole scenario about what happened with his brother. It shows that Will and Harry were out to eat something and at that time the food got stuck in the latter’s throat. Will remembered Heimlich and performed abdominal thrusts through which his brother was saved. We must say that Will’s video is clearly a perfect tribute to Dr Henry Heimlich. While many of us are aware of the technique of abdominal thrusts, thanks to Will, we now know who invented the technique.
