As Bollywood churns in a new generation of star kids waiting for their debuts, paparazzi seems to have missed out on one star kid who is already following her father’s steps. Ida Ali, daughter of director Imtiaz Ali has already churned out her first short film at 15 which her proud father shared on the social media.
The 12 minute long short film, ‘Lift’ could very well be considered as Ida’s directorial debut if she is to follow her father’s trade. The short film set in an elevator revolves around two neighbours who meet while traveling between floors. Their love blooms, withers, sheds and sparks again in the square dimensions of the moving shaft. The film produced by her father’s production house, Window seat productions, carries the familiar essence of Imtiaz’s style of film making. If Ida remains true to her father’s genre we could very well get another director with an eye for romance on the big screen.
