Rakhi Sawant is never a woman to back out of controversies so when Padmavati is swimming in controversies she stepped in in her gusto and openly showed her support for the film. Unlike other A-listers who got praised for showing their support, Sawant in return got threatened for her show of support. Never the one to be meek, Sawant made the best of the limelight and used it take legal steps.
Unlike Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali who have remained silent in the face of threats like beheading, Sawant has already filed an FIR against the Karni Sena who said she should be taught a lesson and that her face should be blackened.
It all started when Rakhi posted a video on Facebook showing her support for Padmavati on Friday saying it is a beautiful film that should be watched by all. She alleges Karni Sena has made threat calls to her and ugly remarks.
"I am a citizen of this country and I have a right to speak my mind. Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor are my friends and I am just supporting them. All I am saying is that Bhansali has shown nothing wrong in the film and that everyone should see it before protesting against it," said the 38-year-old. "I have full confidence on the Mumbai police that they will protect me from these threats,” she added. While no legal steps have been made against those who have made the open death threats, Rakhi seems to have pulled off a first.
