Dangal may have been released in 2016, but the magic of the tale still remains. After all, the Phogat sisters' story was an inspiration to many. The fame of Aamir Khan's production spread far and wide, even rattling the box office collections of China and other countries. And looks like, one of the fans of the movie is none other than the First Lady of South Korea, Kim Jung-Sook, who had experienced the big screen version of Phogat sisters' story in her country, along with a few Indian students. Naturally, she wanted to meet them.
And yes, the wish came true. On Tuesday, the meeting happened and it was an all smiles affair. The First Lady is in the country from July 8 to 11, and she has accompanied South Korean President and her husband, Moon Jae-in.
It was an ecstatic moment for both the parties. While the Phogat family, which included sisters Geeta and Babita and father Mahavir Singh Phogat, were simply ecstatic, the First Lady was simply fascinated to meet them in person after watching their story unfold in Dangal. The sisters received a special invitation to meet the First Lady.
Mahavir Singh Phogat said that he was happy that the movie is strengthening relations between nations and that the message is reaching across, sans the barriers of boundaries.
