You wouldn’t want to see actors playing the same roles in different movies right? They don’t like doing it in real life either! Remember Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insaan - the man who juggled as many roles as named? Fortunately for us we have professionals - people who know what they’re doing, who multi task. Here are a few:
Shah Rukh Khan
King Khan entered the industry as an outsider, and dabbled in everything he could lay his hands on as he made movies. His love for sports and video games in between shots grew manifold when he bought an entire IPL team with good friend Juhi Chawla. Right from promotion to cheering his team on, he makes sure he is present for them. He co-founded Red Chillies Entertainment with his wife Gauri Khan, and it has produced a lot of his films. He still finds time to host award ceremonies, TV shows, and tour the world. Shah Rukh Khan, doing a hundred things, and doing all of them well!
The son of one of the most popular lyricists of our times - also credited for his writing, but much more than that. Farhan Akhtar wrote, produced and directed films. Dil Chahta Hai amongst his most famous ones, before his debut as an actor in Rock On. He sings for his films and tours with MARD, his live band. The co-owner of Excel Entertainment, he’s a movie maker as well as an actor and musician, and brings freshness in every aspect he can.
Farah Khan started off as a choreographer and now she has entire sets of crew dancing to her tunes! Starting off with Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander way back in 1992, she made on-screen cameos in big Bollywood films and built a great rapport with SRK. So when she wanted to direct Main Hoon Na, he was readily on board. She also shared the screen with Boman Irani in Shirin Farhad ki toh nikal padi. She’s written scripts, directed, produced, and choreographed films, and also judges reality TV shows. All this, while juggling her personal life with her triplets! Farah Khan is quite an incredible woman.
India’s hottest export to the west, Priyanka Chopra started off as a model, won the Miss World beauty pageant in 2000, and went on to act in films both in Bollywood as well as South India. She also made her international debut as a singer, collaborating with Will.I.Am, and later Jay Sean and Pitbull. She is now developing a new sitcom with ABC, producing regional movies through her production house, and acting in projects both in the West as well as in India. She jetsets across the world while some of us can’t even get to two meetings in the same city! She does all this while steadily growing to one of the most popular celebrities on social media.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali
When Sanjay Leela Bhansali decides to make a film, he goes all out! The cast, costumes and set designs are all incredible. He juggles writing, directing, producing, editing and making music. He also once made a stage opera of Padmavati, but it was only when he wanted to make it a movie that he had trouble. I’d say the biggest role that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has to handle is handling controversies, but to his credit, he handles that too.
Ayushmann Khurana started off as a radio show host, and then he moved to television, participated and won MTV roadies, and hosted shows on screen. He made his debut in films with Vicky Donor and it was so risky, but that’s exactly what worked in his favor. He’s gone on to make story and performance oriented roles, even recently with Badhaai Ho and Andhadhun. He’s an amazing singer and we get to listen to him in a lot of his movies. If you follow him on Twitter or Instagram, you’ll see he’s a brilliant poet. He’s written a book about his journey in entertainment, and he’s really one of a kind because although he does all of this, he is really humble and he does all of this while trying to be a Super dad to his kids.
Ashton Kutcher’s moved milestones from the goofy, impulsive character of Kelso that he played on ‘That 70’s show’. Starting off his career as a model, he moved on to TV, and then the big screen. He did a lot of romantic comedies, and also has a great knack for business because he produced TV shows, he produced and hosted Punk’d which became really popular. He decided to become an investor and co-founded a venture capital firm, and put in funds in some now well known companies like AirBnB, Skype and Foursquare. He has a twin brother named Michael Kutcher who has cerebral palsy and is a speaker for organ donation and Ashton also involved himself in activities for social causes. He seems really fun and easy going, maybe that’s how he handles all of these things!
Donald Glover was always popular as Troy Barnes on the TV show community, but he was only 23 when Tina Fey hired him to work on ‘30 Rock’. He writes, acts, is a comedian, writer, producer, director, and he is also a musician. He releases his music under the name of ‘Childish Gambino’. He writes music, sings, raps and is also a DJ. He doesn’t just make satirical music though, he won a Grammy for the best traditional R&B performance in 2016. Barely 35 years old, he has a Grammy, Primetime Emmy award, a Golden Globe, and a lot of fans. There’s still no stopping him.
One of the most odd, popular, and amazing guitarists we’ll ever live to see. Brian May is the guitarist of Queen, who doesn’t like Queen! And he made music while he also studied to be an astrophysicist! These two worlds are so far apart but only Brian May could manage to do both of them well. He uses a home-built electric guitar that he built with his dad and likes to call ‘Red Special’. He’s a singer, songwriter, an author, worked on musicals, a consultant for the Bohemian Rhapsody film, and is still one of the biggest rock stars to have ever walked the Earth, although he never has any airs about him. Brian May - legend forever.
Jennifer Lopez was already multi-tasking when she became a pop-star. She started off as a dancer, moved on to films, received a Golden Globe nomination, all before she decided to enter the music scene. She was kind of the earliest influencer of Latin Pop in american music, and since then she’s managed to act in films and make music all at the same time. She’s also a reality show judge and goes on tours across the world. She ventured into business with a clothing line and a fragrance line as well. For someone who was born in the Bronx, hers is a movie-worthy story of making it to the top!
These are just a few of the celebrities who multi-task and do it well. Even with a team working with you constantly, it’s all one can do to remain sane with so much happening! This is Justalkin brought to you by in.com.
