Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet surprised the world by agreeing to work with James Cameron again for his upcoming film, Avatar 2. Winslet, who was last seen in The Mountain Between Us (2017), will begin shooting her part soon and the much awaited sequel to the 2009 blockbuster film. Winslet worked with Cameroon 20 years ago in the sets of Titanic where there are stories of near-drownings on the set. Winslet was quoted by The Times in a 1997 interview saying, “You’d have to pay me a lot of money to work with Jim [Cameron] again.”However, in an interview with Rolling Stone, the actress said that her quote was misinterpreted and in the 2012 premiere of Titanic 3D, she added that she believed whatever happened on the sets was for the good. Cameron apparently was not offended by Kate’s initial comments and said she was ‘just letting off steam.’
She told The Independent, "Yes, it was hard, but no one ever said it was going to be easy. When all the stories started emerging about how tough it had been and Jim Cameron being mean to everybody and costs over-running, I went, wait a minute, what makes these people think they can speculate about all of this? They weren't there."She went on to explain a few reasons that could have led to Cameron losing his temper, “Yes, he lost his temper, but he only ever lost his temper for really, really good reasons. Like we would spend days literally setting up a shot, and if someone isn't doing his job and dumps water 10 seconds too late, then we've got to start over. Yeah, I could understand that man getting a little (ticked) off."James Cameron said the duo had been looking forward to working together since the filming on Titanic. Avatar is set to have four sequels that are supposed to hit theatres beginning with Avatar 2 on December 18, 2020. Avatar 3 will release on December 17, 2021, Avatar 4 is set for a December 20, 2024 release, followed by Avatar 5 in December 2025.
