Director Ram Gopal Verma, whose last film God, Sex and Truth stirred controversy, has said that India can become as powerful as the United States when Kollywood actor Rajinikanth becomes Prime Minister of the country. Last year in December Rajinikanth declared his plans to create a political party and follow spiritual politics. Rajini had earlier said that his party would contest from all the 232 seats in the Tamil Nadu assembly.
According to Rajini, he wants to enter politics and governance since it is so severely infested that it is now a bit of a laughing stock. The actor wants to “change the government, change the system”.
“I did not have political ambitions when I was 45, so will I have it when I’m 68? I am not doing this for any post. I do not come for money or fame, as I have enough of it. But the politics has become so bad that rest of the world is laughing at us,” said Rajinikanth recently in Chennai.
Currently Rajinikanth is waiting for the release of his film 2.0 where his stars along with Padman actor Akshay Kumar. The film will also mark Akshay’s first entry in the film industry of the South. After the launch of God, Sex and Truth, RGV was booked for obscenity, based on a complaint filed by an activist. A case was booked against him under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, for publishing obscene content in an electronic form.
