Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino is an auteur who carved a name for himself with blood spills and gore. He is known to take his time with his craft which is why he has so far produced only nine films since his debut with Reservoir Dogs in 1992. Now the director is set to make his tenth film and is expected to have already roped in his female lead. Oscar nominated actress Margot Robbie is rumoured to be in talks for the role.
Tarantino’s tenth, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is based on the Manson Family murders of 1969. While Robbie is said to be contemplating the role, if she agrees, she will be joining the leagues Tarantino ladies like Uma Thurman, Pam Grier, Diane Kruger and others. In the film, Robbie will play American actress Sharon Tate who gets murdered by the Mason family along with four others. She will be starring opposite Leonardo DiCaprio who will play Rick Dalton and Brad Pitt as Cliff Booth.
This will mark a sweet deal for Robbie who rose to fame with her psychotic role of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. In the movie, she will play next door neighbours to Dalton and Booth. The duo will be struggling for recognition in an ever changing Hollywood.
The director issued a statement about his reason for making the film, “I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old. I’m very excited to tell this story of a L.A., and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff.”
The movie is expected to hit theaters on August 9, 2019.
