Horror in Bollywood is set to get a new high with Anushka Sharma starrer horror flick Pari. The movie already raised goosebumps with its teaser and the latest poster just added to the feeling. Along with Sharma’s haughty look we are shown her Bengali co-star Parambrata Chatterjee. In the poster, a confused Chatterjee looks on while Sharma gives a Mona Lisa smile from behind with a hand with extended bloody nails placed on his shoulder.
The film poster shared by the star is her home production, Clean Slate Film’s first horror project. From time to time, Sharma has been posting snippets from the film with captions to make her fans ponder about Pari’s over archaic story.
Sharma is fast shedding her image of a bubbly girl next door. While she is not removing it altogether, she is using her childish face to ease her audience into the essence of Pari which going by its tag line, is not a fairytale.
A teaser of the film released a few days ago shows Sharma blissfully watching animation on television. As the camera pans across, viewers realise there is more to the movie than meets the eye. Despite Sharma’s peaceful humming, the horror bells strike when we see her hands tied with iron chains and her ankle deeply bruised. Reddened skin bruises around her iron cuffed feet add to the scare factor. However, the real spook comes alive when the camera rests on her feet and we see her toe nails elongate steadily.
The movie directed by Prosit Roy has been shot in Mumbai and Kolkata and is slated for a March 2 release.
