Despite the delay in Padmavati's release, there will be no change in the take-off schedule of Deepika Padukone's next film, which is being directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. In a statement, producer Arjun N Kapoor confirmed that the shooting will not be delayed. "First of all, let me clearly state this, there has been no announcement from Padmavati team's end regarding the new release date. So it's any way premature to talk about it. We don't have an idea when it will eventually release."
"Vishal sir and we spoke a few nights ago and discussed this. We all mutually felt that although it’s not clear if the film will release around that time, even if at all, there are any requirements from Deepika’s end specifically, we are ready to adjust and we will definitely see to it that she’s comfortable. So even if the film releases around that time and Deepika need time off to promote the film, we will happily accommodate that. That isn’t a problem.” he added.
The Bollywood film Padmavati, based on a poem about a Rajput queen written by 16th-century Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi, has sparked protests across the country over “misrepresentations” and “distortion of facts”. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actor Deepika Padukone have received several threats, the latest from a senior Haryana BJP leader who has offered a Rs 10 crore bounty for their heads. Suraj Pal Amu, the party’s media coordinator in Haryana, told The Indian Express he has “announced to double the prize money of Rs 5 crore announced by Meerut youth Som.” The party, however, has distanced itself from the leader’s remarks.
