Being a celebrity is not a price of cake and fame comes with its share of downsides. Normal life is a distant dream and being even a regular date is a paparazzi fest. The life of a celebrity is the cynosure of all eyes and the media go all hawk-eyed on their every move. Priyanka and Nick were a newly-wed couple enjoying the first few days of marital bliss when they were hit by a brutal article by The Cut. The disparaging and absolutely ludicrous piece made its way to the internet, labeling Priyanka as a ‘global scam artist’.
The Cut published the article headlining it, “Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ love for real?” Written by Mariah Smith, the write-up was at the receiving end of a severe backlash from every quarter. From family members to friends and peers and even fans bashed the article for being below the belt. But good sense prevailed. The Cut pulled down the story and issued an apology. And now – after three full days, the author too has issued her ‘sincere apologies’.

Elaborating on the article, it said that Priyanka Chopra made a smart move and slipped in Hollywood with this marriage, and went on to talk about the many brands associated with their ‘fake’ wedding. Social media was on NickYanka’s side and called out The Cut’s piece for being sexist and racist. Priyanka was quizzed about the article at an event in Delhi and she said, “I don't even want to react or comment. It's not even in my stratosphere. I'm in a happy place at this moment. These kinds of random things can't disturb it." You go, girl!
