Priyanka Upendra started out with Bengali movies in 1998 and made a full round in Hindi, Odia, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil movies before getting married to Kannada superstar Upendra, in 2003. Post her wedding, she was seen primarily in Bengali and Kannada movies and was last seen in the 2018 movie 2nd Half, for which she received a Best Actress award too. Priyanka Upendra is currently working on director Lohith's Howrah Bridge, which also stars her daughter Aishwarya.
Meanwhile, we have an exciting new update for Priyanka's Tamil fans. She was last seen in Kollywood alongside Arun Vijay in the 2004 Ramesh Selvan directorial Jananam. Now, it has been revealed that Priyanka is making a comeback to Tamil after a period of 15 years, in a special role. She will be seen playing an important role in Mahat Raghavendra and Yashika Aanand's upcoming Tamil-Kannada bilingual. This thriller, directed by Magesh and Venkat, will have music by Thaman. Talking about her role in this movie, Priyanka said, "I am of Anglo-Indian descent in the film which makes it all the more interesting. This is my first-ever special role, so I’m looking forward to this outing."
Sources close to this project's unit state that Priyanka's character will appear in the second half of the movie. There are also reports that Arvind Swamy will be making a cameo appearance in this bilingual. Priyanka made her Tamil debut in the 2002 Vijayakanth movie Rajjiyam before getting a big break with her very next project! She was seen alongside Thala Ajith and Jyothika in Raja. Priyanka has also acted alongside Vikram in the movie Kadhal Sadugudu.
