While the world celebrated Valentine’s Day on February 14, it was a black day for Indians as 40 CRPF soldiers lost their lives after an explosive-laden car hit their convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. This is one of the deadliest attack on Indian soil in recent times and the whole country is mourning the attack. People from all walks of lives such as industrialists, politicians, athletes, Bollywood celebs took to social media to condemn the terror attack which was carried out by a Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber.
Veteran Bollywood lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar along with his wife actor Shabana Azmi was to visit Pakistan after they were invited to appear at the Karachi Art Council for a programme to celebrate Shabana’s father poet Kaifi Azmi's work. But post the attack, they decided to cancel their trip. We reached out to few Bollywood celebs to know their reaction on the same and this is what they had to say on the attack.
“Pakistan has not only violated our nation’s security they have also attacked our dignity by openly threatening and humiliating us, we need to take decisive actions or else our silence will be misunderstood for our cowardice.... Bharat is bleeding today, the killing of our sons is like a dagger in our gut, anyone who lectures about non-violence and peace at this time should be painted black, put on a donkey and slapped by everyone on the streets.”

"I was watching news from 8 pm to 12 in the night and we all were shattered and we kept wondering what is happening. We all were angry, I am sure bakiyon ko bhi aa raha hoga. We won’t let this one go easily but technically I don’t want to comment anything right now as I don’t want it to fuel the wrong emotions. I only pray that there is lasting peace. My heart goes for the family, for the soilders who is standing in Siachen and other places, we are here and they are there, our lives are totally different. But lasting peace even if needs aggression but to bring peace”
“I am happy they have said it, such statement coming from seniors and pioneers of the industry will be taken very seriously. We as a nation have to stand together right now and do our best to make the families of the departed soldiers feel we are with them at this moment of grief and sorrow. The government and the defence forces will do the needful for sure and give a befitting reply to the perpetrators.”
“I totally condemn what happened in Pulwama. Being a part of the armed forces as my father was in it, it further pains me to see Jawans being made targets of such cowardly terrorist attacks. The concerned authorities should give a befitting reply to the people behind this attack, I totally back Javedsahab and Shabanaji cancelling their tour and I am totally in support of them. We as Indians totally stand by our Jawans and the forces and should show the enemies all our might. Jai hind”
