Rani Mukerji starrer Hichki is soon to hit the Indian screens and the star is going all out to promote awareness about Tourette syndrome, the neurological condition she is battling in the film. In her latest promotion, the actress did a live session with Brad Cohen, the Tourette syndrome pioneer Rani plays on reel. While the syndrome was predominant in the discussion, Rani did not miss an opportunity to broaden the scope of horizon for Hichki.
The actress announced there is every possibility of there being a Hichki 2 if all goes well. There might even be a love story involved in the sequel. To this Cohen giggled to say it would be interesting to see who plays his love interest. During the video call session he also mentioned that because of his condition he had always found it hard to find women to date. Even if he did manage to get one, getting a second date was never on the card due to his condition which prompted him to make loud noises.
Talking about the film and its concept being picked up by Bollywood, Cohen said, “When I was told about this movie I was surprised and I was actually expecting a man but then I was introduced to this wonderful woman.” He then went on to say that he looked up to Rani and even watched Black, one of Rani’s career breaking performances. “I watched one film where she played a role of a disabled girl (Black), and the way she performed I realised she is very empathetic towards others,” he added.
While through the film, Rani struggles to establish herself as a teacher, Cohen had some sore experiences to share from his school days. “Unfortunately most of my memories from school are negative. In sixth grade my teacher made me stand up in front of the class and made me apologize for making all these noises.”
Hichki produced by Yash Raj Films is slated for a March 23 release.
