Ranveer Singh’s performance as Khilji can safely be etched in Bollywood’s history as being stellar but the star has long moved away from it. While Padmaavat’s release date dragged on, the star was already seen making moves on his next project with Zoya Akhtar’s Gullyboy. Meeting and greetings with rappers to perfect his role as an underdog rapper ensued. The latest look from the film released by the director, suggests it will be a long dramatic shift for both Ranveer and Alia.
Ranveer and his co-star are both seen looking somber with sadness in their eyes. The look is suggestive of the movie revolving around the rise of an underdog. Alia’s look specifically gives off Udta Punjab vibes as we can expect her to be not her usual glamorous self in the movie.
Alongside the looks from the film, the director also gave us the release date of the film. Having hit the floor in January this year, the movie will be released on February 14 in 2019. Akhtar’s social media posts suggests that her film will have more than what meets the eye.
Ranveer has been training hard for the film, meet street rappers from the slums of Mumbai, one of whom he will be essaying on screen. Akhtar even dropped a hint that the film may also feature a song sequence shot in a train. A Mumbai based film without a local train is after all an incomplete story.
Ranveer’s co-actor may have been amiss from the director’s posts but that may be because she is also working on Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan in Israel.
The interesting looks from both the actors has already got fans of the stars looking forward to the film.
