The highest ever Kollywood grosser in Tamil Nadu, Viswasam completes 50 days on Thursday in about 125 theaters across TN. The film will also be completing 50 days outside the state in places like Bangalore city and in some overseas territories like Sri Lanka and France. The film has grossed more than 130 crore in Tamil Nadu and close to 185 crore worldwide. The Telugu dubbed version of Viswasam is set for release on Friday and the Kannada dubbed version titled Jaga Malla is also expected to release sometime in March.
Viswasam marks an extraordinary comeback at the box office for the Thala Ajith - Siva - Sathya Jyothi Films trio, which had a disappointing outing in Vivegam back in 2017. True to the title (which means loyalty), the team stuck together and have now delivered an Industry Hit. Nayanthara, young actor Anikha, all the supporting actors and composer D Imman also did their parts for this success. Had Viswasam been a solo release, it might have breached Baahubali 2 and become the highest ever grosser in TN, due to the overwhelming support that it has been receiving from the family audience right from its release.
Thala Ajith’s films are always a favorite among his fans and the youth audience. When his films get wholesome patronage from the family audience, the result is a humongous success like Viswasam. Hearty wishes to the entire team.
