As widely known, just a few weeks ahead of its release, Arjun Reddy's Tamil remake Varmaa starring Dhruv, son of actor Vikram hit quite a big roadblock. E4 Entertainment, the film's production house, decided to re-shoot the entire film only keeping Dhruv as a part of the new version and recasting everyone else along with the director. This decision was made by the producer after consulting with Chiyaan Vikram, as they didn't like the final product that was submitted by director Bala. When the first look and teaser of Varmaa was released, they were not at all liked by the audience.
Early last week, it was announced that Bollywood actress Banita Sandhu of October fame, will playing the female lead in this new version, thereby marking her Kollywood debut. Now a new update has come up about the addition of a new technician! Ace cinematographer Ravi K Chandran will be handling the visuals and this official announcement was made by the makers E4 Entertainment.
Ravi K Chandran also replied to the makers.
Co-incidentally, Ravi's son Santhana Krishnan is taking care of the cinematography of the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy that is underway with Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead roles.
We had already reported about this experienced technician's addition as an exclusive story and now it has become official. Ravi K Chandran's last outing in Tamil was Suriya's 7aum Arivu and this will be his return to Kollywood, after a gap of 8 years. It looks like Ravi has decided to do this for his friend Vikram and his son Dhruv. In the earlier Bala directed version, Sukumar of Mynaa, Kumki and Bairavaa fame was the cinematographer.
Sandeep Vanga’s Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey, followed the story of a troubled young doctor grappling with alcoholism and drug addiction when his girlfriend is forced by her family to end their relationship. The film is also being remade in Hindi as Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, with Vanga himself as the director.
