Being one of the final films of 2018, Aishwarya Rajesh’s Kanaa was a runaway hit at the box office. The actress convincingly pulled off the role of a cricketer fighting the odds to find her way into the Indian team. In order to fit into the character, Aishwarya took up special training under well-known coaches and practiced hard in the heat. The Arunraja Kamaraj directorial was appreciated for its theme and has been bagging a few awards as well, recently. And now, Aishwarya is all set to venture into a new sport with her upcoming film in which she will be essaying the role of a wrestler.
Directed by Nirmal Kumar of Salim fame, it will be made as a straight Telugu film with a possible dubbed release in Tamil too. Though reasons for that are still unknown, it will be the second Tollywood outing for Aishwarya, who is currently shooting for her romantic entertainer with the heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda.
The actress has already packed her slate with a variety of films in Tamil, including a new project with director Suseenthiran. With the working title set as ‘Magalir Ani’, the film is said to deal with a strong subject in the society. Aishwarya also has the Jai starrer Karuppar Nagaram, Vikram’s Dhruva Natchatiram and Mani Ratnam’s new production venture in which she will play GV Prakash’s sister.
