Not just us but the world has realized that Bollywood is highly dependent on Punjabi industry for its music. Bollywood has been taking up our songs, mixing and remixing them and have been spoiling some of our most favourite tracks. Recently, Laung Laachi's recreated version invited global backlash and a while ago Badshah and Diljit Dosanjh's Proper Patola also didn't go down with the Punjabis well. Tu Laung Main Elaachi still remains the worst recreation till date.
This time, it is Akhil’s Bollywood debut song “Duniya" for the movie Luka Chuppi starring Kartik Aaryan, Kriti Sanon in lead roles. But this time the person to be blamed is Akhil because he himself made a remake of his epic song Khaab to enter Bollywood. Punjabi song Khaab has been a global hit and helped Akhil climb the ladder of success. Seems like he killed his song with his own two hands because Duniya is a complete disaster.
The original track Khaab was penned by Raja, the music was given by Bob and it was sung by Akhil. The Hindi recreation Duniya is sung by Akhil & Dhvani Bhanushali. Lyrics are penned by Kunaal Vermaa and the music is composed & produced by Abhijit Vaghani. The song is picturized on the lead pair Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon and trust us, Ruman and Akhil were so much better than this onscreen couple.
The new version is surely an unimpressive attempt but someone really needs to tell this to the Bollywood makers. They need to STOP ruining our Punjabi songs. But the silver lining is that Akhil got his big break in Bollywood with this song. We hope that he does more songs in Bollywood but originals and doesn’t ruin his classic Punjabi ones.
