Choreographer - actor - director Raghava Lawrence is gearing up for the grand summer release of his next film, Kanchana 3. The film is planned for an April 18 release in both Tamil and Telugu. The previous versions in this Muni franchise were all big success stories in both the languages, and the fourth installment in the franchise is also expected to set the cash registers ringing. Meanwhile, it has come to our notice that Raghava Lawrence is all set to make his Bollywood directorial debut with the Hindi remake of Kanchana (the second installment in the Muni series, which was a blockbuster success in the South, back in 2011).
Akshay Kumar is said to be playing the role done by Lawrence while the actor who would be playing Sarath Kumar’s part is yet to be slotted. It must be noted that Sarath played a transgender woman in Kanchana and won great critical acclaim and mass acceptance for his performance. It was a challenging part pulled off with elan by the veteran. We have to see who gets to play this part in the Hindi remake, which is expected to go on the shooting floors in April.
Best wishes to Lawrence on his impending Bollywood debut.
