Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is a self-confessed lover of South Indian cinema, especially Tamil films. He does not miss an opportunity to appreciate good films and he makes it a point to promote them to his Bollywood brethren. He was seen debuting in Ajay Gnanamuthu’s Imaikka Nodigal where he had essayed the role of a powerful antagonist last year. Although he could not dub for himself due to want of time, director Magizh Thirumeni’s voice was a perfect foil for this director/producer/actor.
On Monday, Anurag had tweeted an interesting information. Apparently he was asked to be one of the writers for Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha, Fahadh Faasil, Ramya Krishnan and others. The trailer of the film had the viewers go gaga over it as it was too good. After having seen the trailer, Anurag had also tweeted.
People who saw this tweet assumed that he had the opportunity to act but Anurag clarified saying he was asked to be one of the writers for this film. Super Deluxe right now has four writers in the form of Mysskin, Nalan Kumarasamy, Neelan K Sekar and Thiagarajan Kumararaja himself. It sure is a disappointment that Anurag could not be a part of this writing team. It would have given the story a totally different color and texture. The film is releasing on the 29th of March amidst huge expectations especially after the director’s first film Aaranya Kaandam which was a great hit.
