Arun Vijay is gearing up for the release of Thadam this Friday. He has pinned a lot of hopes on this thriller, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, in which he plays dual roles for the first time. We had the chance to interact with Arun, at length, recently on his career and how he has been braving all the odds and persisting over the years. Arun shared an interesting incident with Thalapathy Vijay, which happened back in 2005 after the release of his film Jananam which didn’t perform well at the box office.
The actor said, “I was depressed after the result of Jananam. The film had a delayed release and our efforts didn’t get the deserved recognition. I was in a dilemma on what to do next, and some of my close ones suggested that I get into film production and that we can approach Vijay sir, who was the top gun among the young heroes at that time. When I pitched the idea to Vijay sir, he just advised me to shun other ideas and stick to acting. He encouraged me stating that I was a good actor, a great dancer and someone who does stunts even better than him. His words really motivated me at that time and gave me clarity. I will forever be thankful to him for that.”
Nice to see Thalapathy offer such words of solace to Arun back then at a crucial juncture. As we know, Arun is on a good wicket now, with impressive films being added to his resume back to back. One believes that Thalapathy must also be feeling happy seeing Arun's current standing in the industry.
