Though Arun Vijay has done many different kinds of films in the early stages of his career, he has now shifted paths completely into the action thriller genre, with each film of his having him in a stern or hunky look. All of his recent ventures, be it Yennai Arindhaal, Kuttram 23, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam or the upcoming Thadam fall under the same umbrella, though they have their own USPs that differentiate them from each other.
When we ask Arun about this change that he has welcomed with both hands, he said, “It is from Malai Malai where it all began. Slowly, by doing consecutive thrillers such as Maanja Velu, Thadaiyara Thaakka and so on, I realized that the audience started liking me in such roles. When you get the love for something you do, you should realize it and work on it further. In the early days, I have done Priyam, Kaathirundha Kadhal, and many such light-hearted films. But it has all changed now. Even now, I feel there are a lot of grounds that I still have to explore, and that’s what I am working towards.”
The actor’s upcoming two films in Agni Siragugal and Boxer too, will be high on action. While he will be seen sporting stylish costumes and an urban look in the former, the latter will see him playing a boxer who fights all odds to come out winning. For now, let’s look forward to the investigative thriller Thadam which hits the screens on Friday.
