Arun Vijay’s latest film in Thadam has turned out to be a huge hit round the state, becoming a profitable venture for all those involved. Thadam is now the actor’s best box office performer in his career, beating the records set by his earlier solo film Kuttram 23. Arun Vijay is now busy with the state-wide success tour, in which he has been visiting cities such as Coimbatore, Trichy and Nagercoil. And now, we’ve heard that the film is all set to be remade in Tollywood with Ram in the lead.
Producer Sravanthi Ravikishore, who is Ram’s uncle, has acquired the Telugu remake rights of the film, and will be producing the remake by joining hands with Tagore Madhu. Ram, who is busy shooting for his ongoing project iSmart Shankar, will soon be watching Thadam and will then take the final call on the remake. The makers will soon begin the search for a suitable director are likely to approach Thadam’s director Magizh Thirumeni himself to direct the remake as well. It remains to be seen as to whether Magizh would take up the offer, as he has already finalized his next film with producer T Siva of Amma Creations.
Thadam, which featured Arun Vijay in a dual role for the first time in his career, is a murder mystery that largely tricked the audience and made them play the guessing game. The film was widely appreciated for its brilliant writing and sumptuous twists. Arun Vijay, on returning from the success tour, will join the shoot of his next action thriller Agni Siragugal, in which he will be sharing the screen space with Vijay Antony.
