Aditi Balan appeared as a whiff of fresh air in Kollywood horizon when she made her debut in Aruvi directed by Arun Prabhu and produced by SR Prabhu. She defied all those standards that have been set hitherto by heroines in the industry. She reflected the girl next door image so well that the audiences could easily relate to what was happening on screen which made the film a grand success.
Although the film was a huge hit and the Tamil audiences were happy that after a long time they got to see a performing heroine, this lawyer turned actress did not sign her second film till recently. Perhaps the lady was enjoying all the adulations and the awards she has been receiving.

But her fans could heave a sigh of relief now. Yes, Aditi has signed on the dotted line for her next film, but sadly, it is not in Tamil. She is committed to a Malayalam film titled Jack and Jill directed by ace cinematographer Santhosh Sivan who on earlier occasions had directed films like The Terrorist, Malli, Asoka, Urumi, Ceylon, and Inam to name a few. Jack and Jill marks the return of the director to Malayalam after almost seven years. The film is a thriller that has Manju Warrier, Kalidas Jayaraman and Soubin Shahir in lead roles.
With such an eminent cast and crew, Aditi is sure to rock Malayalam screens too. We wish her the best!
