Director A.R.K.Saravan made an impressive debut through his fantasy comedy thriller, Maragadha Naanayam, that starred Aadhi Pinisetty, Nikki Galrani, Kaali Venkat, Munishkanth Ramadoss, Arunraja Kamaraj, and others. The film received critical acclaim and was also given a super hit status at the box office. Post the success of the film, the young director was rumoured to do a film with Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi under the production of A.M.Rathnam's Shri Sai Raam Creations, but that did not take off. After a few months, an official announcement on Saravan's next film was made and he was revealed to team up with actors Atharvaa and Parvatii Nair for a new film.
The film was launched with a formal pooja and the film was titled, Minnal Veeran. Bankrolled by Mathiyazhagan for Etcetra Entertainment, D Imman was announced to take care of the music score of this action entertainer. However, it looks like this film is also dropped. Yes, we are informed by our sources close to the director that, "Saravan's film with Atharvaa is dropped for now for a few reasons and it will not happen. He (Saravan) is busy with the pre-production works of his next film and it is in the final stages of scripting." Kollywood insiders gossip that the film could be dropped due to the rift between Atharvaa and producer Mathiyazhagan that started when the star's Semma Botha Aagathey became a failure at the box office. Mathiyazhagan was one of the distributors of that film.
Atharvaa is currently waiting to see the release of his film, Boomerang, on March 8, while he is on the verge of completing the shoot for Kuruthi Aattam, an action gangster drama, directed by Sri Ganesh of 8 Thottakkal fame.
