With his KGF having received a rousing welcome in Kerala after a slow start, Yash has become a household name in the state. His popularity now is such that he was invited to Cochin to launch the Malayalam trailer of Megastar Mammootty’s upcoming political drama Yatra, which is a core Telugu film also dubbed in Malayalam and Tamil. Yash charmed the crowd with a genuine, heartfelt speech.
“Mammootty sir is an inspiration. It’s not an easy feat to be active in the industry for over 4 decades and still have a demand for your films. He is a legend! I’ve also closely followed Jagapathi Babu sir’s films from my childhood. Recently I was spellbound by his presence in the trailer of NTR’s Aravindha Sametha; I’m yet to see the complete film though,” he said.
“When I was invited to launch the trailer of Yatra, I was wondering ‘why me’. Mammukka is such a senior actor and I’m just a newcomer in Kerala. But I’ve to say KGF was received so well here in Kerala. It reinstated my belief that when it comes to cinema, people aren’t bothered about language and just look for good work,” he added.
Yash was all praises for the new trailer too. “The trailer of Yatra has kindled my curiosity. It’s a tricky subject to handle where in you focus on just one particular event in a leader’s life and not make a complete biopic. The film looks grand with many scenes shot amidst a huge crowd, like how we shot KGF,” he said. Read More
