The highly decorated and popular actor Darshan has not been seen making any public appearances or media appearances for nearly a year-and-a-half, now. The Challenging Star's last release was the 2017 movie Tarak, with Sruti Hariharan and Shanvi Srivastava, also marking the 49th movie as an actor. A little while back, Darshan was involved in a gruesome car accident and the incident was blown out of proportion by a few segments of the media and a lot of unnecessary questions were raised about it. After this accident, Darshan has remained totally away from the limelight and even the progress of his upcoming movie Yajamana, has been guarded very tightly.
While talking about the movies he is currently a part of, Darshan states that he has 3 in hand, including Kurukshetra, Yajamana and Odeya. He also adds that he was busy working on these, during the past year or so. Darshan also revealed that the unit had completed shooting for Kuruksheta quite a while back but that the CG effects required for the project were taking some time to complete. Talking about his upcoming movies and his long silence with the media, Darshan says, "In the absence of a film up for release, I did not see the point in talking about myself. I would rather have my work do the talking. That will all change now, as I have three films coming up this year, and a couple, at least, in 2020. The plan is to do three films a year going forward."
Darshan's 50th movie Kurukshetra would take some more time to hit the screens but his Yajamana will be releasing worldwide on March 1st. Talking about this movie, Darshan said, "By the time the first show is over, the fate of the film is decided. We are not making any tall claims that we have made an extraordinary film. But what I will say is that Yajamana is a clean family entertainer, which has elements that pretty much everyone can relate to. My character is called Krishna and he is the catalyst for exploring certain issues of society that we have highlighted in Yajamana." This is indeed great news for the fans of the 'Boss of Sandalwood'!
