Viral is the word for Rowdy Baby, the absolutely belligerent chartbuster from Maari 2, which has worked its way up to 100 million views on YouTube within the space of just 16 days. This is easily the fastest time in which a South Indian song has crossed the mark, dethroning Rangasthalam’s Rangamma Mangamma which broke the record by hitting the counter after 142 days of its release. At the third and fourth spots are Vachinde from Fidaa and Saahore from Baahubali.
The reason behind Rowdy Baby’s terrific success surely goes to five of its main members – Yuvan Shankar Raja who scored the music, Dhanush who wrote the lyrics and even sung the male portions, Dhee Venka who is the peculiar female voice of the song, Sai Pallavi for her jaw-dropping dance moves, and finally Prabhu Deva who choreographed the track to perfection. The entire team of Maari 2 are super kicked with the response to the song, which is easily the best thing about the film.
Last week, Rowdy Baby achieved the feat of making its way into the Billboard YouTube charts, bagging the fourth spot amongst all the other big hits around the globe. This is Dhanush’s second path-breaking work with respect to music, after the huge success of Kolaveri Di in 2011.
