Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey’s Arjun Reddy was a super hit film and it was raved so much that it is being remade in several languages. From Hindi to Tamil, everyone seems to be catching on the Arjun Reddy fever. The Tamil remake of the film, which was earlier titled Varmaa, recently made a lot of headlines. The film which was to see a Valentine’s weekend release got cancelled and the producers decided to re-shoot the entire film with a new cast and crew. Except for the male lead - Dhruv Vikram, everyone else was announced to be replaced as the producers weren’t happy with the final cut of the film made by National Award winning filmmaker Bala.
This obviously enraged a lot of people in the industry and set off quite a few debates. Although Dhruv never officially spoke on this matter, he did post a double-meaning message on his Instagram. The actor posted a picture, as his Insta story, which says, “You are gonna piss a lot of people off when you start doing what’s best for you.” Is this some sort of a message from him to all the people talking ill about him due to the cast re-shuffle? Well, it may or may not be. But, as far as the film is concerned, it seems to be sailing smoothly now. Also, the young talent, took to social media for the first time, after the eruption of the Varmaa controversy.
This new version has been titled as Adithya Varma and the first look was released just a few days back, on social media. It had Dhruv sporting a thick beard with a rugged look, something similar to Arjun Reddy. The title font too had a similarity. Banita Sandhu has been roped in to play the female lead and shoot is set to begin in March. Gireesaaya, who worked as an associate director in the original Arjun Reddy, is set to direct Adithya Varma and Ravi K Chandran has been roped in to crank the camera. Aiming to hit the screens in June 2019, the film has music composed by Radhan, who also composed for the original! Read More
