Director Susi Ganesan to remake his Thiruttu Payale 2 in Hindi!
Susi Ganesan made his Bollywood directorial debut with Shortcut Romeo ,which was the remake of his Thiruttu Payale. He is now all set to direct another remake of Thiruttu Payale 2 in Hindi.
Filmmaker Susi Ganesan entered movies as an assistant to maverick director Mani Ratnam and worked on his movies Bombay, Iruvar and Dil Se. Susi Ganesan then made his directorial debut in the year 2002, through two back-to-back movies - Five Star and Virumbugiren. Both these movies went on to become award winners and established him as an able filmmaker. The 2006 movie Thiruttu Payale, which carried the title of a yesteryear Gemini Ganesan movie, went on to become a blockbuster hit and became yet another award winner. He then directed Chiyaan Vikram in Kanthasami, which turned out to become a huge fiasco at the box office. Subsequently, Susi Ganesan made his Bollywood directorial debut with Shortcut Romeo in 2013, which was the remake of his Thiruttu Payale. He is now all set to direct another remake in Hindi.
We have news that Susi Ganesan is preparing to remake his Thiruttu Payale 2, in Hindi. Talking about this, an industry insider states, "Director Susi Ganesan is getting ready to remake his last Tamil movie - Thiruttu Payale 2, in Hindi. The cast and crew of this movie have not been finalized yet!" An official update on this movie is expected to be made, very soon. Thiruttu Payale 2, which had Bobby Simha, Amala Paul and Prasanna in the lead, also had Susi Ganesan himself playing the role of an investigative officer. This intense crime thriller was well received critically but failed to make a mark at the Box Office, commercially. Susi Ganesan's first Hindi movie - titled Shortcut Romeo, had Neil Nitin Mukesh, Ameesha Patel and Puja Gupta in the lead. Himesh Reshammiya had composed the music for this flick.
Following the upswing in the #MeToo movement, filmmaker Leena Manimekalai took to her social media page to state that Susi Ganesan had misbehaved with her. The post was detailed that he had offered to drop her off at her residence one day but had locked his car and forcibly taken her to his house. She also added that it was only after she threatened to harm herself physically that the director relented. This post was followed by a denial from the director's side who also pursued legal proceedings against Leena for defaming him. However, Amala Paul also came out in support of Leena and claimed that she had also been harassed by Susi Ganesan during the shoot of Thiruttu Payale 2.Read More
