In recent times, Telugu cinema has seen some fantastic blockbusters which have been huge money spinners for the concerned stakeholders. Though films of all the big names gross big numbers invariably they may necessarily not be profitable ventures. Along with the two Baahubali films, Geetha Govindam and Rangasthalam are in the elite club of the most profitable films currently. The latest entrant to this select list is the comedy cracker F2: Fun and Frustration which has amassed a mindblowing worldwide theatrical share of about Rs 72 crore after 16 days of its run.
The film’s theatrical rights were worth Rs 32 crore and the profit from just the theatrical run is more than Rs 40 crore now. The eventual theatrical profit of F2 is expected to be upwards of Rs 45 crore. Geetha Govindam had a stunning theatrical profit of more than Rs 50 crore while Rangasthalam had a theatrical profit of more than Rs 42 crore. F2’s box office performance has been outstanding, to say the least. The film has also stormed past the 2 million $ gross mark in the USA.
Meanwhile, one of the film’s heroines Tamannaah, who couldn’t attend the recently held success celebrations of the film, met the press a couple of days back and shared her happiness at having bagged such a big blockbuster.
