Fresh from the success of Ratsasan, which is still running in theatres even after 70 days, actor Vishnu Vishal is gearing up for the release of his next film - Silukkuvarpatti Singam on December 21st. In a recent exclusive interview chat, he said that he was excited as well as tense about releasing his film along strong competitors with proven stars like Dhanush’s Maari 2, Ravi’s Adangamaru, Vijay Sethupathi’s Seethakaathi and the Sivakarthikeyan production Kanaa. Vishnu expressed optimism that if his film can succeed in such a highly competitive scenario, then it will do a world of good to his market as a saleable commercial hero.
Vishnu revealed that the director of Ratsasan, Ramkumar, is thinking of a sequel to the film and is in the process of coming up with an idea for it. He also said that sequels to his other hits like Mundasuppati and Indru Netru Naalai will also go on the floors soon. “One must be really careful while taking up sequels. One mustn’t do sequels just for the sake of it and kill the franchise”, added Vishnu on a guarded note.
He also said that the success of Ratsasan has strengthened his belief in good content-driven films and not just commercial mass masala films.
