A guy who as a teenager was exceptionally good at Kabaddi and loved wrestling so much that he eventually earned himself the title of ‘Manni Pehelwan’ later went on to become Mankirt Aulakh. Although being a singer was never even a part of Mankirat’s plans but destiny had it all sorted.
As mentioned earlier, he was a passionate sports person and was planning to pursue it professionally but an unfortunate ligament injury forced him to pull out of sports. It was during that time he tried his luck in singing but fortune couldn’t click for him instantly.
His first song ‘Kaka Ji’ didn’t do well and as a result, he had to wait for some more time to get success. Mankirat’s moment of success came in the year 2015 when his tracks ‘Gallan Mithiyaan’ and ‘Jugaadi Jatt’ became chartbusters. Since then, Mankirt has climbed the ladder of success swiftly.
Mankirat’s entire journey to Mankirt Aulakh from Manni Pehelwan was not a cake walk for him. He had to go through a lot of struggle. The man struggled for almost 6 years for establishing his foothold in the industry. At one point he weighed almost 118 kgs and had to lose a lot of weight to get into a right shape through extensive gymming for almost 2-3 years.
Describing his personality, Mankirt once said that he loves his mother tongue and his roots more than anything else and this is the sole reason why he prefers to wear Indian attire whenever he is touring foreign countries. The Manni Pehelwan in him said that he just wants to be a loving husband who wants to give lots of love to his wife because according to him a woman gives twice the love in return to what you give her. Well, Mankirat is a true family man!
