Manjima Mohan also fondly called as Momo celebrates her birthday on Monday, the 11th March. This cute Piscean is the daughter of cinematographer Vipin Mohan and dancer Kalamandalam Girija. The birthday girl has worked as a child artist in many Malayalam films such as Kaliyoonjal, Priyam and Sundara Purushan to name a few. Her first debut as a heroine in Malayalam was Oru Vadakkan Selfie directed by Prajith and scripted by the talented Vineeth Sreenivasan.
Seeing Manjima in Vadakkan Selfie, Gautham Menon brought her to Tamil in Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada with Simbu as the hero. The film was also made in Telugu as Saahasam Swasaga Sagipo, so Manjima had made a simultaneous debut in Tamil as well as Telugu. Her unconventional and cherubic looks were liked by the audience. She looks more like a girl-next-door who is warm and friendly. She further went on to do Sathriyan with Vikram Prabhu and Ippadai Vellum with Udhayanidhi Stalin.
Although Manjima has the looks and the talents, she is yet to get a blockbuster film to her credit. Perhaps Zam Zam in Malayalam which is the remake of Queen could do that for this smart actress. In Tamil she has completed Devaraattam with Gautham Karthik and an untitled film with Jiiva. She has also won the Filmfare award and Edison award for Best Debut actress for Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada. Here is wishing Manjima a very happy birthday and success in all her endeavors! May Zam Zam catapult this actress to great heights!
