As we all know, Shankar is the director who holds the tag of making the costliest Indian film yet with his mammoth venture 2.0 which hit the screens last year. Starring Superstar Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, the film featured a truckload of VFX apart from the big names from Hollywood that worked for it. Now, the director has started shooting for his next film, the sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Indian.
After a gap of 23 years, Shankar has joined hands with Kamal Haasan once again for this massive film that also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Nedumudi Venu, and others. After a few days of the shoot, the makers had halted the schedule. While Kamal himself has clarified that the delay is because of the set work required, Kollywood birdies indicate that there is more to it than what meets the eye. According to sources, Shankar has been asked to take a budget cut by the makers, leading to a heated argument between members of the top tier. The director, who usually leaves no stone unturned when it comes to his visual range, is now unhappy with the development and has started to toy around with the idea of bringing in investors from the Telugu circuit. Official confirmations and announcements on the same are awaited.
With the current schedule taking place in Chennai, the team of Indian 2 has plans to shoot in overseas locations such as Taiwan and Ukraine too. Let’s wait for more updates!
