Luka Chuppi, the Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Bollywood flick has been of special interest to Punjabis because it literally has all of its songs from the Punjabi music industry. At first, Sunanda made headlines for her song 'Poster Lagwa Do' with Mika Singh, which we thought wasn't the best remake of its earlier version. Then came the Hindi version of Karan Sehmbi's 'Photo' and we immediately fell in love with it. The twisted love story managed to grab some eyeballs after its trailer release but to our utter shock, the team has now recreated the global hit 'Laung Laachi' and we were just about to puke!
The original was an immediate hit and featured Neeru Bajwa in quite a refreshing avatar. The comeback of Neeru Bajwa on the big screen was a hit after her Laung Laachi dance and people all over the world couldn't stop ogling at the beauty of the Punjabi actress. The original is sung by Mannat Noor and the music is by Gurmeet Singh. The composition is by Aman Jay and the lyrics are by Harmanjit.
But, on the contrary, recently released Tu Laung Main Elaachi is the worst that one can do a gem of a song!
Neither does the song have the same level of energy nor is Tulsi Kumar's voice matching anywhere to that of Mannat's. As they say in Punjabi "Naas maarta gaane da'."
Sung by Tulsi Kumar and re-composed by Tanishk Bagchi, the song shows the leading lady Kriti Sanon dancing during a celebratory function but the actress is way below Neeru Punjaban's high power dance performance. Oh yaar she's not even close.
It's high time that T-series understands that the songs that are getting recreated, at least, need to be a level above the original if not much.
