Ravichandran Ashwin, one of India's leading Test cricketers and the team's spin bowling spearhead is one of the most popular players across the world. Today, he took to Twitter to congratulate a current Kollywood actor for his timely knock to seal a must-win match for a 4th Division team in a league match of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. Vikranth, Thalapathy Vijay's cousin, is well known for his on-field heroics in many celebrity cricket matches. He has blasted away many bowling attacks and shown how well a player of the game, he is.
Recently, while batting for the Vigneshwara CC in a 4th Division League match for TNCA, Vikranth smashed 107 runs from just 92 balls. This century which had 2 sixes and 10 fours, helped Vigneshwara CC in a crucial must win encounter against T Srinivasaraghavan Memorial Sports Club, who had posted 217/7 in the first innings. Vikranth, the screen name for Santhosh S, was the last wicket to fall after he nearly took his team home. However, his teammates completed the win easily. When a sports club acknowledged Vikranth's knock through a Twitter post, Vikranth graciously thanked them in reply. Ravichandran Ashwin also seems to have come across this post, for he shared it with his own comment.
Off the field, Vikranth is currently busy with three projects - Bakrid with Jagadeesan Subbu, Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu 2 with Selva Sekaran and Suttu Pidikka Utharavu with Ramprakash Rayappa. Vikram will be having directors Suseenthiran and Mysskin co-starring with him in Suttu Pidikka Utharavu.
